Our fifth annual Sugarloaf Heritage Day was Saturday, May 19, at the beautiful ASU-Heber Springs campus. Festivities were held in the Administration Building. Fried catfish and chicken and all the fixin’s were served compliments of Mack’s Fish House (THANKS Mack!). Dr. Mickey Barnett and Charles Stuart from the Cleburne County Historical Society provided a presentation on the history of Sugarloaf Mountain and the surrounding area. An acoustic ensemble also provided music. Awards were presented to our sponsors and our outstanding volunteers. A bounce/slide was available for the kids – young and old – as well as face painting, kite flying and other activities. All this was available free of charge.
